Tall case brass dial clock, 1766.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a cove and ogee molded broken-scroll pediment terminating in carved and gilt rosettes with three gilded urn-and-spire finials, carved blind fretwork in the tympanum, rectangular sidelights, free-standing fluted and gilt columns at the front corners, free-standing turned and gilt columns at the back corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove and ogee moldings at the top, fluted and gilt quarter columns at the front corners and a case door with a shaped serpentine top. Base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, an applied base panel, and supported on straight bracket feet. Engraved dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, engraved c-scrolls in the spandrels and lunette, and an engraved roundel with the inscription "Gawen Brown Boston 1766" in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is an engraved seconds dial, an engraved calendar dial, and engraved c-scroll ornament. Eight day movement.
